Ballerina Girl...you are so lovely

So, here's where Mommy gets a little emotional...Anna started ballet class today...all by herself! Eight little girls (including Anna, Hannah & Juliana!) in pink leotards, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers, with hair up in ballerina buns. They twirled, they curtsied, they leaped, following Ms. Chrissie's every direction. All the while mommies and daddies (and Aunt Julie!!!) peeked through the door at these adorable little fairies. The tears came at the end when Ms. Chrissie had the girls dance to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." When did my little peanut become a ballerina?

Bling blang...hammer with my hammer...

A quick metro ride downtown and Anna & Mommy were downtown at the Building Museum to play with the giant legos and build build build! So much fun!

The Kennedy Center Presents...Anna!

The Kennedy Center open house was a wonderful way to spend a glorious day in D.C.! The weather was perfect for all the great activities they had--an instrument petting zoo, the "Doddle Bug" (a VW you could write on!), maraca making, chalking, juggling--not to mention the neat book fair & performances. It was a fabulous, picture-perfect day! Thank goodness fall is making it's way to the DC/Maryland area...

It's Uncle Arun!!!! (and Uncle Ro-Ro)

All the way from San Diego--it's Uncle Arun! Anna was very excited to see him (Mommy & Daddy were, too!). After showing him around our 'hood, we headed to the Kennedy Center (more on that in the next post) for a very fun day, but not before picking up "Mr. Rohit" (longtime friend of Uncle Arun), who quickly became "Uncle Ro-Ro." A good time was had by all--especially Anna who had unlimited swings in the air and giggles. And went to bed early after all the fun! Can't wait to do it again!

Preschool!!!!!!

Fall is in the air (OK, it's actually 90 degrees, but still) and it's that time of year--Anna's 1st day of preschool! Granted, the first day was only an hour long, but still a big day! She loved her classroom and really enjoyed painting & reading stories. I would have posted more pictures, but SOME fabulous 3 year-olds run right into the classroom and start to play without so much as a backward glance at their mommies... :) That's when you know it's a good day and your baby is ready for school!
