Butterflies fluttering by
With Daddy away defending his dissertation (yay Daddy!), Anna & Mommy had to do somethign extra fun. Butterflies it is! A trip to the Brookside Gardens and their' butterfly exhibit made for a great morning. It wasn't quite the Peggy Notebaert, but there was some hands on fun (ooooh...touching a dead butterflies wings!) and acres of beautiful gardens to explore. I'm pretty sure we'll be back again very soon!FamilyDO'C at 2:58 PM

It's a bird...it's a plane...it's...
the Aviation Museum! Yes, we have the Air & Space Museum, as well as Udvar-Hazy, but on a hot, humid day, nothing beats the quick trip to the College Park Aviation Museum. Located on the grounds of the world's (!) longest continuously operating airport is this very Anna friendly museum. Not only did she get to dress like a pilot and "fly" a plane, Anna also got to make a few airplane crafts and watch a helicopter take-off. Not bad for $2. :)FamilyDO'C at 9:25 PM
The zoo with our new crew...
To take advantage of our membership, Anna & Mommy went with some of our great new DC friends and neighbors to get to know the zoo a little better. Stuart & Fisher showed Anna the ropes, including some of the cooler places to play (yes, that IS a giant pizza!). It was a HUMID day, but we all had a blast--mommies included!FamilyDO'C at 9:07 PM
