Bye bye Colorado!

On our last day in Colorado, we spent the day in Manitou Springs trying to get the top of Pike's Peak (too much snow, so we only made it 11,000 feet) and climbing in the Garden of the Gods. Manitou Springs was a beautiful little place and we were glad to wrap up such a great trip there. The highlight for Anna--lunch at Cracker Barrel. :)

Mashi and Kaka!!!!!!!

While we planned our Colorado trip, Anna talked about "climbing mountains with Mashi & Kaka" for months. She had so much fun with them--from climbing rocks with Mashi to playing space with Kaka. They got to learn a lot of "cool" new songs and fabulous dance moves. It was also nice for Mommy & Daddy to spend some quality time with their dear friends. We miss you both already!

On top of the world, looking down on creation...

We were at the top of the world at Rocky Mountain National Park! Amazing views and we saw so many neat animals from big-horned sheep to elk. Anna also had a blast eating snow!

Red Rocks! Red Rocks!

While we waited for Mashi & Kaka's flight, we got the chance to go to Red Rocks natural amphitheater. It was a little cold, but totally worth it!

We are the dinosaurs, marching, marching...through Dinosaur Ridge

About 45 minutes from Denver was an awesome little trail called "Dinosaur Ridge." It's the site where some of the first dinosaur specimens were found. There we saw actucal dinosaur footprints and bones embedded in the rock. Anna, now a paleontologist in training, dug for fossils, climbed in the footprints and just enjoyed the Colorado outdoors.

Mile High Fun

While Mommy was presenting at a conference, Daddy and Anna enjoyed sightseeing in a Denver. Climbing on art, visiting the capitol--it's a tough job, but someone's got to do it!
