Ballerina Girl

The best parts of dance class? Dancing in front of the mirror and getting a stamp (this time it was a smiley star!) at the end for doing a great job!

Heading to ballet class is twice as fun when you get to wear your tutu.

In time for Valentine's Day...

OK, it's really not worth getting into why Anna knows the words to a 90's Amy Grant song, it's just super cute to hear her sing it! Happy Valentine's Day, everyone. :)

So what if it's 10 degrees and windy...

Mommy and Anna feel like going to the Zoo! Yes, it was chilly. No, it was not crowded. But, we got to see and hear a lion roar UP CLOSE! And we got to see the chimpanzees eat lunch and pee! What more could you ask for on a cold January day?

Hanging out with Grammy & Poppy

Poppy (Anna's great-grandfather) fell and got a little hurt, so Anna and Mommy went to spend some time with him and Grammy (Anna's great grandma)to spread a little of Anna's sunshine and help out. Anna had a ball! From eating breakfast "just like Poppy" to getting to participate in Poppy's physical therapy and help set up his new bath chair, there was always something fun going on. We miss and love them a lot! Heal fast, Poppy!

When Daddy's Away, the Girls Will Play

Daddy had a busy January with a conference and job interviews, leaving Mommy and Anna lots of time to enjoy the Chicago museums. Although Mommy has been a little too busy to update Anna's blog, we've definitely been having lots of fun! We started off January with a trip to the Chicago Children's Museum. Anna loved building forts, dressing like a fire fighter and being very artistic with paint and clay! Then we headed to the Museum of Science and Industry for a wonderful (FREE!) day of checking out the trains and figuring out how things work. Finally, we finished our museum tour with a visit to the Field Museum (also FREE!) to check out Tyrannosaurus Sue and the kid's discovery section. Lots of learning and lots of fun, but these girls will be glad to take our next museum visit with Daddy because we missed him!
